We made an impromptu day trip to Desaru on a Saturday (end Nov) with few CG friends. On the previous night, Shan & Sky had a sleepover at Ah Ma's house and decided not to follow us. We happily went ahead with Seth (making up for the Jpn trip which we are not bringing him along).
We dropped by Jusco to do some shopping, had lunch and went to the fruit farm. We lingered there a while before heading to the sandy beach. Seth seemed to enjoy walking on sand. We enjoyed the sea breeze for a while before heading to the famous seafood restaurant to savour crabs and lobsters.

Unlike some horror stories we heard about how kids were being assessed through a series of test during the Orientation Day to determine their class, Shan's school had already pre-allocated their class and made known to us priorly in the notification letter.
During the Orientation, Shannon had to sit together with her classmates. It was a nice surprise that one of her CC classmate is in the same class as her. The mummy and I quickly exchange number to facilitate future communications :) The orientation consisted of address by the Principal and Head of Department and P1 pupils giving welcome speech as well as a dance performance. Thereafter, the parents were led to their classroom and we were being introduced to the Form Teacher and the Chinese Teacher.
There, we also went through the admin process and completed the purchases of her uniforms and books. Easy peasy! Looking forward to the start of Primary School journey!

Brought Seth to a Baby Contest at the Clementi CC. To our pleasant surprise, he came in FIRST for his age group (6 - 12mths). We were sooooo proud of him!

Opps! Backlogs in blogging!!
We brought the kids down to the Dairy Farm Nature Park - a newly opened park next to the Bt Timah Nature Reserve.
As we went with Seth, we did not make an attempt at the Wallace trail. The kids only ventured a while and took few shots inside.
Instead, we walked over the the Wallace Education Centre where the kids took some photos with the cows!
Teaching the bb a thing or two!
After the Diary Farm Nature Park, we went to Frog Farm. Here, we saw masses of frogs! The kids weren't too keen to examine the frogs longer and bugged to visit goat farm. Unfortunately, by the time we reached the Goat Farm it was closed for the day.
Luckily, daddy drove us to Farmart which is still open. The kids enjoyed the feeding moments and even reminisce about the farmstay at Gold Coast!

Time files so fast and in no time, Seth will grow out of his babyhood soon :(
He's such a joy to have. He's easy going and smiley most of the times.
He's on his way learning to walk. He's always looking out for chances to stand and tried letting go his hand. Luckily, he's cushioned by his diapers and the stomping on his buttocks is something he's used to it.
He now has 2 bottom middle teeth and likes to try variety of food. His favourite fruit is apple.
Sadly, as we will be travelling without him in slightly off one month's time and I have to wean him off. My bm supply has dipped drastically as I reduced from expressing twice in office to zero expressing. We have slowly introduced him on formula milk. He used to be very resistant and rejects bottles whenever I'm around. In merely two weeks that I have stopped expressing in office, I can't supply him a full meal now. Rather, he's only snacking or comfort nursing on me. Even so, I still can't bear to totally cut him off.

Wanting the kids to have a good workout, we brought them to try out HSBC Tree Top Walk last Saturday Evening.
Yet, 0.6km away from Tree Top Walk, we realised that the bridge is only open from 8.30am - 5pm. As the gate to the car park will be closed at 7.30pm, we decided to U-turn back.
The kids started to scream "tired".
The last visit there was 2yrs ago where we can remember vividly that our city kids do not last longer than 1km?!?

Shan was able to finish the walk. For Sky, mid way back, he can't take it and asked to be piggy backed.
We will be back again!

The whole family took turns to be attack by the Cold Bug! The worst is every time, one family member is down, Seth will join the club. First, it was me. When I'm well and running, Seth caught it. After episode 1, dh & Shan got it and again Seth joined in. He had already had two rounds of antibiotics! Urggg! When I thought everything was over, Sky is now showing the signs with greenish mucous coming out!

This is the 3rd year running Shan had her performance at SCGS. By and large, i'm generally happy with Shan in her current dance school. However, her school is performance based and not exactly following the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) grading syllabus. I have recently speak to her teacher about the way forward and noted that she also teaches at Moving Art and Singapore Ballet Academy. I'm currently exploring few school and should be making the change next year. Unfortunately, most schools that I explored are currently full in their Saturday class.
Her progress in ballet is also relatively better than her Tap dance. Have discussed with Shan and decided that she will just concentrate in her Ballet.

How time files! Shannon is now 6yo.
This year, she chosed for herself "My little Pony" cake from Smiling Orchid.
As a tradition, we celebrated her birthday at her CC. She even asked me if next year, Primary School will allow them to celebrate birthdays!
She has formed good friendship with these 3 other girls and her teacher were commenting they are always having fun and doing stuff together. In fact, three are going to the same pri. sch.
After the celebration, we brought the kids to take a Luge ride at Sentosa.
We spent a short 2hrs but enjoyable time at Sentosa.
As a "ongoing" celebration, we went for free ice cream at Swensons the following day with the grandparents & ah yi. We were pleasantly surprised when the staff dish out a camera and took a family pix for us. Within few minutes, they are back with the instant photo printed by Canon Seply Photo Printer. What a nice gesture!

Slightly before 6mths, Seth has shown interest in food. I had excitably bought healthy times oats cereal and frisocream rice cereal plus those expensive pigeon biscuits.
After a 4yrs gap of feeding bb, my skills, i guess need some brushing. With him spatting out some food along the way, I had created the mess on him.
helplessly looking at me!

On National Day morning, Seth was dedicated in Church.
After church service and a power nap, the children were eager to go out again. With pestering from Shannon, we brought them to West Coast Park for a 2 hr of play and picnic. As we end the day at 7.30pm, we decided to catch some National Day fireworks. Daddy quickly drove to marina barrage and we could already see streams of car parking and people waiting for the moment! We were listening to FM93.8 to catch the live mood of NDP and to make sure we are in time to see the fireworks.
The kids enjoyed watching the fireworks.

Kiasuism has kicked in. With half a year more to go to P1, i guess it's timely that she should be drilled.

Seth has completed his 6-in-1 jab and the next jab is when he turns 15mths.
At 5mths, his wakeful moments are longer stretch. He's a playful boy and loves to "talk".
He's learning to sit and trying to support his weight with his hand. Within few seconds, he will roll down again.
At pre-crawling stage, his bum has been working hard recently.
Recently, I tried flashing some cards I previously bought for Sky. I was intrigued when Seth is able recognise the picture i asked for. It seems amazing cos the success rate of Seth hitting the right card is almost 90%. But still, I'm not really into Glenn Doman and I'm not defintely not the type of mum who's "hardworking" enough to create superbaby.

Karen and our family (with the exception of Seth who was at home) enjoyed picnicing and Ballet Under the Stars for the 2nd year running. This year, the crowd was super overwhelming. Gates are opened at 5pm. By the time we reach Fort Canning Park at about 6pm, the park was already full house. Streams of people are still seen strolling in at 7+ when the show had already started.
As soon as we are nicely settled, the kids quickly went to do glittering hand painting which are part of the pre-activities.
Not long after, the show started at 6.30pm with pre-performance which starred dancers from School of the Arts, NUS, Laselle and Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts and followed by the enchanting SDT's performance.
Sky remembered the NDP rehearsal jet plane show he saw the previous year and was looking forward to see it. Unfortunately, the planes only flew by one time midway of the show. We get to "hear" fireworks though (as they were blocked by the big trees).

That's it. After all the anticipation, it's a short and fuss free registration. I brought all required documents as stated in MOE website but all the administrator saw was Shan's BC. What I should look forward is the Orientation Day in November.

I had really set my mind not to shave Seth's glory crown.
As I'm experiencing post partum hair loss, Seth also had his fair share. Still, I'm not too bothered. Yet, day in day out, Ah ma & Rose (our domestic helper) will complain that
1. he's too hot
2. his hair is dropping
3. he may eat his hair while sucking his fingers
4. his fine hair get stuck btwn his neck
5. his hair will turn out nicer after the shave
6. bald patches start appearing
7. he's a boy..AND it's ok to shave
Finally, I decided enough!
Well, Seth's pretty cool about it. He sits well on my lap and couldn't be bothered that hair was dropping all over him.
