I Light Marina Bay

Together with Mum, Sis & her bf, we brought the kids to Marina Bay Waterfront for the i Light Marina Bay, a light art festival to kick start the 1-wk holiday break. There were many artwork on display and here are some of the highlights.

This is my personal favourite. The ArtScience museum is projected with 3D animation on it. The 10-15 minutes long 3D animation tells a story of a butterfly venturing into a garden.

The chair is lighted up when you sit on it. Sitting at the lighted chair makes the viewing of the waterfront extra sentimental.

Hope that they can be so loving everyday!

Marvellous Monday

Except for Shan who still need to go to school for dance practices, Monday to Wednesday, 8am – 12pm (Do they really dance that long?!), school's out for term break. Seth’s CC was also closed on Monday for teacher’s training.

The mummy of course had to do something to make sure that their holiday had some memorable moments while balancing the equation with homeworks. Took half day leave and brought them to the new indoor playground, Happy Willow, at Fushionpolis. Since it’s new, there’s also not much crowd. Although the area is separated into Kids and Toddler’s Den, my young toddler ventured everywhere and had tremendous fun!

They even had a book corner and I must say the books that they carry are of quality reads.

Look how happy this bookworm is!

And she immediately immersed herself into the books.

As for Sky, he prefers to relax after a good workout

Seriously speaking, Happy Willow still pale in comparision to their big time favourite Indoor Playground - Go Go Bambini. Nevertheless, they had good fun and that's what matters.

After a few good hours, the hunger pangs kicked in and we decided to forsake daddy and took 2 stations down to Holland Village via Circle Line for early dinner. O boy, kudos to good transport system. Why are there still so many unsatisfied souls complaining to LTA?!

We settled at Everything with Fries, the name of it brighten the kids’ eyes! With the exception of the young one who was extremely exhausted from the running and went reminiscing about his earlier wild moments at La La Land.

We ordered two portions of grilled pork chop and a tandoori Chicken sandwich and all came with salad and fries (needless to say). Very satisfying meal!! Any salad with balsamic vinegar goes for me. Their fries come in two type, shoestring and straight cut. We chose shoestring fries but three different flavours, Original, Curry and Sour Cream flavour for our three meals. The sour cream was a tad too bland but the original and curry ones were “unstoppable”. Thank God, Shan and Sky had different tastebud. So, Shan happily tucked in her original fries while Sky chomped his curry fries.

Their famous one egg soup.

Worth going back again! And I meant the food!

Funtastic Sunday

It’s the start of the March holidays and the kids are having much fun (only extended to Monday, haha).

We started the chirpy Sunday (we went for Saturday Church that’s why) with a brunch at Epicurious @ The Rail Mall. Read the good the reviews at my favourite food bloggers' site here and here, and have been dying to visit. Unfortunately, the family's kids' busy schedule has been putting us back. Thankfully, there’s not much crowd! We ordered the Egg Benedict, Baked egg with Toasted Soldiers, Pancakes and Toasted bread (last minute order as the kids ate up most of the food and I still felt hungry!). It was EXCELLENT! The egg, bacon and cheese combo is really hard to resist and in no time, all except Seth slurped it up in no time. Seth was enjoying his pancake and do not want to be distracted!

Satisfied look!

Looking across the restaurant, we realised that many hiked on the railway track and made a mental note to bring the kids there for a walk one of these days.

Shan went for a birthday party at Ben & Jerry’s and the four of us roamed around at United Square. Sky spotted Beyblade challenge at the event area and of course the doting father gave in and bought new Beyblades for the boys. Gosh, one spinning top cost $19.95! Too much! But Sky earned the chances to participate in the challenge stations.

After the party, we went to Centrepoint as we noted that there’s Jack and Beanstalk performance at the atrium. It was a story telling session and the kids enjoyed it! Seth got abit scared by the appearance of the giant that he left his seat to snuggle on my lap. It’s great to catch these free performances at the malls during school holidays.

Talking about time management, Daddy managed to buy himself a pair of shoes while the kids were watching show. The kids made themselves cozy at the mall.

Took a breather in between while shan was having her ballet lesson. In the evening, the arty farty young couple met for a play – egg and spoon at Act 3.

It’s an interactive play (for 1 – 4yo) allowing the kids to feel and touch the wonders that journey through the four seasons. Too bad, they do not allow photos in the play. As we were watching the play, Daddy brought Shan and Sky to nearby to feast on chicken wings! On yes..the breakie  brunch lasted them through evening and no wonder they had to surrender themselves to the wings despite knowing that we would be dining at the famous Ya Hua Bah Ku Teh at Tanjong Pagar.

Walking hand in hand to eating place after the show.

After dinner, we made an impromptu decision to catch a movie – Dr. Seuss’ The Lorax. The light-hearted animated movie ended our funtastic Sunday really well.

Arty Farty Couple

The young couple has been going to a number of play together recently. Today, they attended another performance by Playtime! @ Esplanade - Hello Elly. Through ABC song, Elly (the Elephant) went on a trip with the Tree through the forest.

Both Seth and Bec Bec enjoyed the entertaining and interactive musical performance.
