Funtastic Sunday

Monday, March 12, 2012

It’s the start of the March holidays and the kids are having much fun (only extended to Monday, haha).

We started the chirpy Sunday (we went for Saturday Church that’s why) with a brunch at Epicurious @ The Rail Mall. Read the good the reviews at my favourite food bloggers' site here and here, and have been dying to visit. Unfortunately, the family's kids' busy schedule has been putting us back. Thankfully, there’s not much crowd! We ordered the Egg Benedict, Baked egg with Toasted Soldiers, Pancakes and Toasted bread (last minute order as the kids ate up most of the food and I still felt hungry!). It was EXCELLENT! The egg, bacon and cheese combo is really hard to resist and in no time, all except Seth slurped it up in no time. Seth was enjoying his pancake and do not want to be distracted!

Satisfied look!

Looking across the restaurant, we realised that many hiked on the railway track and made a mental note to bring the kids there for a walk one of these days.

Shan went for a birthday party at Ben & Jerry’s and the four of us roamed around at United Square. Sky spotted Beyblade challenge at the event area and of course the doting father gave in and bought new Beyblades for the boys. Gosh, one spinning top cost $19.95! Too much! But Sky earned the chances to participate in the challenge stations.

After the party, we went to Centrepoint as we noted that there’s Jack and Beanstalk performance at the atrium. It was a story telling session and the kids enjoyed it! Seth got abit scared by the appearance of the giant that he left his seat to snuggle on my lap. It’s great to catch these free performances at the malls during school holidays.

Talking about time management, Daddy managed to buy himself a pair of shoes while the kids were watching show. The kids made themselves cozy at the mall.

Took a breather in between while shan was having her ballet lesson. In the evening, the arty farty young couple met for a play – egg and spoon at Act 3.

It’s an interactive play (for 1 – 4yo) allowing the kids to feel and touch the wonders that journey through the four seasons. Too bad, they do not allow photos in the play. As we were watching the play, Daddy brought Shan and Sky to nearby to feast on chicken wings! On yes..the breakie  brunch lasted them through evening and no wonder they had to surrender themselves to the wings despite knowing that we would be dining at the famous Ya Hua Bah Ku Teh at Tanjong Pagar.

Walking hand in hand to eating place after the show.

After dinner, we made an impromptu decision to catch a movie – Dr. Seuss’ The Lorax. The light-hearted animated movie ended our funtastic Sunday really well.
