This year is a year of new beginnings. Sky started his primary school journey this year and joins his sis in NHPS. Shan starts P3, a rather crucial year I would say.
Sky's half awake look at 6.30am.
Recess time. Sky looking very happy with his new-found friends. The school arranged pre-pack recess for the first 10 days, exposing them to the food from all the stalls.
Look at all the eager parents at the right hand side...all of us looked like in the "zoo" looking at exhibits.
At the left hand side
Happy that he's settling well in school.
Jie Jie popped by to visit :)
The school arranged a series of briefing by HOD on Day 1 and after recess, while we needed to process some paper works with the teacher, the students had a tour of the school.
I pray that he will have a good six years in the school and, form good friendships and enjoyed a well-rounded education. He will enjoy great favours from his teachers and friends and God's blessing in this journey.

Just before school starts, together with our good friends, Allan & family, Alice & family, we decided to make an impromptu trip to Desaru. The weather was extremely good and the guys kids had a good kite flying experience.
collect seashells!
As usual, the main purpose of going up Desaru is to eat lobster and crabs...mmmmmm...
and this time we had seafood for lunch instead of dinner. We had time to go for some grocery shopping and went back to Sg by evening for another great meal.

Got to know that Logos Hope, the floating book shop, is anchoring at Harbour Front. Thought it's good to check out some books for the kids and made some purchases for Xmas. Met Allan and family for a dinner at Vivo before checking out Logos Hope.
Nice dinner at Modestos.
A photo outside the ship.
Unfortunately, to my disappointment, the selection of books were not that great. Anyway, the kids spent a good amount of time reading on board and I also managed to grab some books for the kids.

8 days just flew past in a swoosh! Last minute shopping at U Sqaure. Actually did not shop much, we took more photos than anything.
Till then...Bye TW!
I know guys are not into shopping but this is totally too much! They better not do this when they are shopping with their girlfriend (15 years later)
I wish we have this large size Yakult in SG!
Till then...Bye TW!

The two highlights of the day was visiting Martyrs' Shrine (Zhong Lie Ci å¿ çƒˆç¥ ) and Shilin night market.
Martyrs' Shrine is a place used to commemorate the soldiers that die for the country for various reasons. It hosted the infamous hourly changing of guards. Understand the guards "perform" 7 times daily, 365 days a year doing the same routines. I believe the shrine is open almost all the year round for free tours.
Majiam really studying the painting
Our group photo!
After touring, we settled for lunch and bought the pineapple tarts back. In the evening, we visited the famous Shilin Night market.
Everybody eyeing on the XXL chicken cutlet.
Tucking in to the superbly good duck herbal soup!
plus a yummlicous big steak shared by a few of us.

At mid noon we reached Leofoo Village. Another place of interest that the kids were eagerly looking forward to. Can you see the rooms at the right hand side? Facing the central "zoo" were the two long stretches of rooms. They were named Giraffes and Zebras room. We could wake up to Giraffes knocking against our windows! For us, we were placed nearer to the flamingoes. Before we savoured our Zebras and Giraffes rooms, we wasted no time to explore the theme park!
Our family photo
First, a tram ride to explore the wild lives around the park
The tram ride totally beat our Night Safari few hundred times. The animals were so intimately close to us.
Time passes too fast and before we knew it, it's time to head back to our hotel. Unlike other theme park, Leo Foo Village closes at 5pm. Took some scenic pictures before we left.
Doing a mood shot here in the room. Nah...more of stone look, trying to recover from the enjoyable but tiring day.
There's more programmes lined up though. (1) tribe dance and interestingly (2) story telling session for the kids.
Listening intently during story time. After a bedtime story, we were set in a mood for sleeping.
