Taiwan Day 7

Sunday, January 01, 2012

The two highlights of the day was visiting Martyrs' Shrine (Zhong Lie Ci 忠烈祠) and Shilin night market.

Martyrs' Shrine is a place used to commemorate the soldiers that die for the country for various reasons. It hosted the infamous hourly changing of guards. Understand the guards "perform" 7 times daily, 365 days a year doing the same routines. I believe the shrine is open almost all the year round for free tours.

After touring, we settled for lunch and bought the pineapple tarts back. In the evening, we visited the famous Shilin Night market.

Everybody eyeing on the XXL chicken cutlet.

Tucking in to the superbly good duck herbal soup!

plus a yummlicous big steak shared by a few of us.

Satisfied to the max that night after the sinful night of eating and shopping!

With God's love, we have been blessed with three wonderful kiddos. I hope to jot down as many events and details as we journey along this life. One day, when the kids grow up, they have this space to refer to bring back many fond memories and laughter.

With love!
