Day 4 - 8 Dec 09

Set off to Kyoto in the morning.

While the guys were settling the accommodation, we shopped at Isetan. Can't really recall but Isetan alone comprises of 11 levels! The kids enjoying at the playground at the children's level.

At Level 10, it is mainly make up of eateries. We had lunch at one of the ramen shop.

After lunch, we proceeded to the the Imperial Palace. Unfortunately, we were slightly late and missed the guided tour. We walked around freely in the garden and the kids enjoyed picking up maple tree leaves.

A group photo in front of the Palace before leaving.

Had some shopping & small bites along the way to the Silver Pavilion.

Finally, we reached Silver Pavilion. But it's closing in half an hour time and we felt it's not worth to enter. Oh well, a shot outside will do.

The best way to enjoy Kyoto is really to walk. We explored the Philospher's Path. It was a pleasant walk though we are not sure if we walked the right track.

We were by then used to the short day and covered as much as possible before the town turns dark. We passed by a Fire Station and the kids took the opportunity to take some photos before the firemen closed for the day.

After a long day of walk, it's certainly comforting to eat a bowl of hot udon!

After dinner, we had a walk along Gion District before we headed back our inn - Ryokan Shimizu. It was also the most spacious stay in Japan.

Sky enjoying himself!
