1. Attended two X'mas services at CHC. Felt blessed as dh's friend responded to the altar call. Shan & Sky got face painting on the 2nd visit.
2. X'mas Party at Ronnie's place
It's a company celebration hosted by dh & Ronnie for their team. Have to "crawl" to work the next day since it's a working half day (Xmas eve)
3. Thanksgiving at our place
Our cell organised Thanksgiving celebration at our house yesterday! It's indeed good fellowship where we had great food, fun & laughter!

Her work today at One Art Studio. Again, she asked to continue lessons but too bad, there's no slot available for regular lessons currently.

Shan has been asking to go for art lessons for some time. So far, I have yet to see a complete painting or picture drew by Shan though. Am not sure if she's really interested in ART. Manage to get around to bring her for a lesson at One Art Studio last Sat. It's a 1.5hr lesson and I finally get to see a complete painting.

Before we moved, Shan would do her practice using the old organ at my mum's place. As we are not bringing the organ with us, I decided to get a keyboard for her. Have been searching around for a recommended model at the forum and finally decided on Casio CTK-496. Just when I wanted to buy, I spotted a gently used set for sale at the forum. Thank God for the favour! Shan happily started her practise again today.

Despite the packing activities on the day before, we woke up on a Saturday feeling fresh. Seeing the Sun, the kids bugged to go swimming (we had asked the kids to pray for a good weather the day before for swimming). Hopefully, we will be more involved with sports since we are so near to the swimming complex and sports complex. The kids had an enjoyable time at the pool.
In the late afternoon, we attended baby Josh full month. Boy..he's really chubby & cute! It's nice catching up with all the old colleagues too.

Sky attended his last day at Enrichment Classroom last friday. I learnt from the teachers that he's the baby of the class. Because, he's the youngest, the teachers called him "Skyler baby"..his friends followed suit and called him the same! His teachers are really dedicated. It was also the completion of the holiday programme - Artist Workshop. The teachers painstakingly compiled their art pieces together. Similarly, I sought the teachers' help to take some pictures for memories.

We managed to unpack everything except the kids' room (waiting for their wardrobe to arrive). In between our packing, I have to settle kids' occasion squabbles and make peace. I must say though, the kids helped in their little ways:
Shan
- the communicator bridge btwn me & dh who's at different rooms doing packing (big time)
- swept the floor
- carrying things around the house when needed
Sky
- swept the floor
- took a 2hr nap - it helped alot as he can be quite a terror! haa!
Though really really tired, I'm happy to shift back to my "hometown" - Clementi. It's such a convenient location! Yet, on the other hand, felt sad that we will be further away from my mum, pa & sis who were previously just 2 blks away.
Today is also Sky's last day in his playgroup and significantly, also the end of his holiday programme. Will post more another day.

Was grumbling to ah ma that Shan fringe cut was extremely "ku ku" & not nice.
Her sudden reaction: It's ok mummy..I'm still pretty!
2. Boys
Shan: Mummy, I like boys
Me: Ya, and girls too rite.
Shan: No..boys only because they are handsome"
"DUH"
3. Marriage
Shan: "Mummy, I don't want to get married. Next time, give birth very pain"
Goodness! At this age, what does she know about marriage!
4. Pictures
Me: Shan, can you take photos of me.
Shan: Nooo, mummy, you have not put make up on.
whoever taught her all these!!!

Was looking through her progress card again and am reassured to note these words repeatly appeared since she joined when she was 18mths old.
Helpful - 4 times
Enjoys music & movement - 6 times
The teachers also verbalised the above to me whenever I asked about her in school. Except for talkativeness in class, she's generally labelled as "good" student. In her small ways, she practiced what pastor kong has preached :p. She adopted cultural mandate and is a testimony in the school (which I have been praying over the kids).
Not sure how long her memory of the friendship amongst her & her little friends and the bond she built with her teachers since 18mths will stay with her. In fact, she has been asking me if her Ichiban teachers can go to her new school to teach her.
The pictures that her teachers helped me to take on this last day.
Part of her growing up..till her new chapter in the new school...

School Concert cum graduation ceremony is an annual event of Shan's school.
As usual, the kids participated in 2 items. Shan has been dancing her items at home but nothing beats seeing her in the costume and performing on stage. So proud to see her dancing so well. I believe other parents are also as touch to see their kids performing.

Shannon
Doubt she caught anything from Sky but more due to heatiness resulted from eating the deadly ba kwa. Her immunity is however stronger against the bout of cough attack. Unfortunately, the kids' ah yi was down with stomach flu & Shan caught it on Friday! Her fever fluctuated over the weekend & had terrible diarrhea over the weekend. Has been praying constantly for their health & thank god that she recovered fully. Let her rest today as not really sure if she had recovered but thank God, the episode is over & she's still able to go jogging with ah-ma in the morning!
DH
Dh has been cursing the deadly ba kwa we bought the last weekend ever since he's down with terrible sore throat. Guess the heatiness in the kids were also somehow affected by eating ba kwa.

Noted that the activities do help to built up confidence level. But seriously, doubt we would want to waste $ to sign him up for any Gym classes.

Incident 1 - Sky
After storing his last mouthful of food in his mouth for sometime, he spits the food out. Immediately, without warning I put him in the naughty corner. Unfortunately, his deary daddy came home at this time & he got so whiny. His daddy decided to get tough with him & not let his "papa, carrrrieee me" affect him. Salt & pepper was added & the crying episode lasted for a good 1 hr. In the end, when he finally apologise to me, he was too tired & went to sleep promptly at 9pm.
Incident 2 - Shan
While dh is patting Sky to sleep in the room, Shan was eating her koko crunch. She accidentally spilled some of them & she tried to put it back. Ususally, I'm not so particular since our floor are fairly clean. I was quite snappy & gave her a lecture about eating food that was on the floor. Without saying, her tap was turned on. Since she did not nap in the noon, she was also extra tired & story time was shortened.
Sign...felt that if the clock is turned back, I could have been more positive and would be able to spend quality time with the baobeis.. The few hours after work with them just whiz pass with the lecturing. Have to keep praying for God's wisdom & guidance in parenting.

Previously, the kids had no chance to play any outdoor activities. So, this time, we bought the "All Parks" tix on sat. It was the right choice. Besides the kids enjoying their rides, the adults had their fair share of fun too. In the evening, the kids had another round of activites in the indoor theme park.
As we need to rush back for Shan's music lesson, we set off the next day morning. Felt quite bo liao to go all the way up just for a day of fun. Seriously, don't think we'll be heading Genting in the near future! Alas, when we are back in SG at 3pm..Shan's music school called to inform the teacher is on MC!

Was so worried that Shan would be grouchy due to lack of sleep. But thank God, the 1hr nap she took after quick meal in the car (after the service) to the time we reach SCGS was enough as a power charge up. Thanks to God who make all things possible!
Enjoy the partial dance here (abit blur thou)

Shan: "I want to be a Taxi Driver like Ah Gong, so that i can fetch people around"
Me: That's so nice of you.
Shan: I also want to be Mummy when i grow up.
Me: I heard from aunty you also want to be a grass cutter?
Shan: Yes, but after i think over, i don't want to be grass cutter anymore. I just want to be Taxi Driver & Mummy.
Very amused!

On the actual day, we went to her school to celebrate with her. Ordered cupcakes which look lovely.
As a "topping" for her birthday, the whole family went to swensons at night to enjoy an "earthquake" session.

You Will Be a Cool Parent |
You seem to naturally know a lot about parenting, and you know what kids need. You can tell when it's time to let kids off the hook, and when it's time to lay down the law. While your parenting is modern and hip, it's not over the top. You know that there's nothing cool about a parent who acts like a teenager... or a drill sergeant! |
