Shannon is 3 today!! Happy Birthday my big baobei! This yr, she requested for a strawberry shortcake cake.

After that, we went to Bt Panjang Plaza to have a drink while she played bubbles. Later, we brought her to Bt Panjang Plaza library to borrow books. I must say that the books selection at BPP library is so much more interesting & extensive than CCK.

For the benefit for daddy who jus came home y'day & thus has not sing b'day song, we bought a small cake fm polar cake to Globetrotters. Shannon had fun playing in the little trotters fun room while Sky was busy "mum mum". He has been eating alot recently!

The 2 baobeis's daddy is in Vietnam for a wk & will be back just in time this Sun for Shannon's BD. Whole of last wk, he has been putting Shannon to sleep. He must be thinking of to make up for the 1 wk loss of seeing his baobeis. Naturally, yesterday, Shannon was asking for daddy to accompany her to sleep.

Dh emailed to inform that I would enjoy shopping there as there's lots of nice bags & shoes with embroidery. Green with envy!! Shall wait for surprises then! haha

These days, shannon seems to have imaginary friends. She will be on the phone & as if talking to someone. When i asked her who is she talking to, she will reply "my friend la" & quote a name. Conversation overheard, "wait for me at NTUC. Lot 1 there, hmm, ok, bye"

?!?!?!? LOL

With the coming of the National Day, Shannon's CC has been teaching her the National Anthem. So recently, she has been singing the anthem at home. It does bring me back to my old school days memories when I hear her singing.

Today, she amaze me by reciting the pledge to me. To think that she can really recite the full pledge & not missing out any verse. I was totally "wow" by her! I think i only learnt the pledge in primary school?!?

The 2 baobeis are finally well & completely recovered from the dreadful HFMD. To celebrate, we decide to bring Ah Ma (she deserve the most credit for taking care of them singlehandly for a week) out for a good lunch. While the baobeis' Ah Yi is enjoying dim sum in HK, we are not missing out by eating dim sum in SG too.

After lunch, we went to Botanical Gdns for a breathe of fresh air. But by then, shannon is fast asleep.

We hit home as soon as the sky turns dark & that ends the day of "celebration".

I bet ah ma is more happy & relief to see this than anyone else!

Both Sky & Shannon are sick again! Shannon was having fever over the weekend out of the blue. We were quite worried as her CC reported 2 cases of HFMD. Today, our fears are confirmed when teacher Neela called to inform that they found ulcers in her lips and tongue. DH rushed to bring Shannon to GP for check. The GP on the other hand advised that it doesn't seems like a full blown HFMD case but suggested Shannon to rest at home for a week.

Sky is not any better. He's having the running nose, phlegm and fever again. He's sprouting more teeth at the same time & this seem to worsen the situation.

This happen at a bad timing with the maid not around and poor Ah ma has to juggle with the two grouchy baobeis.

God, pls heal them fast!

As dh's army unit is in charge in this yr's NDP, we had the privilege to get tixs to the NDP full dress rehearsal this year. Along with ah ma & ah yi, all of us went for the show yesterday. Boy, the crowd is exactly like National Day itself! Majority are clad in red too! It's always heartwarming to watch NDP live in National stadium. Year after year, NDP gets better and better!

Sky's favourite part is watching planes & parachutes coming in & keep shouting "bird"! This year, Fireworks are the highlight as it practically lasted throughout the show. As we are sitting on the last 2nd rows, we are given umbrellas to prevent fireworks raining down to us. This create some excitement. The kids esp Shannon were fascinated though at some point quite scared since it's jus above us!

Happy Birthday, Singapore!

The kids are usually in tees & pants when they sleep as I don't have a habit of putting them in pyjamas. Today, Ah ma bought a set of Hello Kitty Pyjamas for Shannon. Looking at how cute Shannon is in her pyjamas, i think i will be getting more pyjamas for kids to wear in future.

This mummy got a call by nbyn for a FOC makeover cum photoshoot. In return, we will get 2 images in a CD-ROM. Afraid that it may ended with pushy salestalk, I have been postponing the appt for few weeks since the two kids were sick. However, they are persistent and called me couple of times. Since there's nothing on after church yesterday & being curious and "cheapo" to get the free shot, we went for it y'day. Only being there, we realise that the whole thing will last for 2 hours! They provide a makeup (for me only) & offered two different looks. The kids were shag out at the end of the session as they missed their naps!

Sign..my dear Sky is so stoned after the sleep in the car. The nurse is trying to excite him with ball, food & games but nothing interest him at all!! He stand there looking stress & wonder why he was suddenly being put thru series of "test". After a while, he let out a a distress wail..Oh well.. there goes this mummy's chance to winning some "milk $$" :p

I bet we will frequent the Zoo for the coming year. Dh jus signed up for the Friends of the Zoo membership last sat. At this age now, Shannon understand & know the animals better.

Boy's hair can really get long v. fast.
Just within 2 mth, Sky's hair is long again.. He's sweating so much tat Aunty Siti can't help but to tie his hair up!

Aunty Alice held Jacob's 10th birthday at Toa Payoh Safra Kids Adventure Club. Both Shannon & Sky had alot of fun. Sky enjoyed himself at the ball pool while Shannon busy going thru the obstacles course.

Last sat, together with little Fredrick & family, daddy brought Shannon to see movie "Cars". After the show, I ask Shannon how's the movie. The only thing she could tell me is there's pink car, purple car & alot of cars. Dh was saying she could only sit still for an hr & even ask for mummy at one point.

Last Wed, DH & I celebrate our anniversary with a lunch at Sebastien. It's a cozy place but the food is not really that fantastic in my opinon. After the lunch, we shopped in conjunction with GSS :p In the evening, we had our western dinner at Queenstown kopitiam.. The steak is superb! Hawker price but restaurant style!! The famous char kwey tiao is also there! U won't miss it by spotting the loooong queue.

The kids' beloved Ah Yi brought their pics to Portrait Workshop for a caricatures sketch when they were 1yr old. Ah Yi was saying 2yrs ago when she brought Shannon's pic to him, it took the artist 3hrs to complete the sketch. The business has since grew and when recently she went to him for Sky's sketch, it took him 2wks to complete.

Shannon likes to hug & kiss her bro. While doing that on the way home, i asked her how much she luv her di di. She replied "$10"

Ok..of coz i din expect her to say as deep as the ocean but well..$10???

Sky is at this stage of throwing things on the floor, putting things in his mouth and throwing things in the bin. Y'day evening, he gave us a great fright.

While Dh was changing his diaper, we noticed that he was playing with a 20 cent coin and almost putting it in his mouth. Guess our reaction is too big when we saw it and caused Sky to open his mouth wide enough for the coin to go in. He choked on it and immediately, his face and eyes turned red and you could see his blood rushing up. We turned him around and I was banging his back real hard. It's a relief when the coin finally dropped out of his mouth after a few secs. It took a while to calm him down too.

What a close shave! Thank God, I really can't imagine the worst.

Last Sat, we brought Shannon to see Hi-5 show at the expo. DH & Sky + Aunty Suzie's DH & Ian were enjoying the food festival at the expo while we were watching the show.
Shannon seems to enjoy it along with Ferlin, Shaine & Troy. Though her eyes are glue to the show, she does not dance along.

Her excitment came when the show ended and the Hi-5 ballons were on sale. She kp tugging me to buy the ballons. Imagine $10 for 1 ballon! But this indulgent mummy still gave in to the request :p Well, it's "worth" it, Sky still enjoy playing with it till today!

Last sat, Shannon joined the children church outing to Omni Theatre to watch the dinosaur movie. We brought along our nieces & nephew too.

I could see that Shannon was trying to look away when we were "sliding" towards the dinosaur. It was quite an experience for her & us since the last time we visited Omni Theatre was god noe when.

Shannon has upgraded from the "What" phase to the "Why" phase recently.. Every single thing, she will ask why.. Jus early this morning when daddy & mummy still dreaming away.. Shannon climb up the bed:

shannon: "daddy why do u hv moustache?"
daddy: "becos i'm a man"
shannon: "why are u a man?"
daddy: becos i'm a man"
shannon: "why are u a man?"

This conversation went for a while with Shannon kp asking her daddy why is he a man before she was distracted to go out.

There were saying that you will learn more during your child growing stage. I guess we are getting into it now. In yrs to come, we may hv to do research before answering our children :p

Shannon's school is arranging a trip to the Zoo on 30 May. It will be her first school trip (somemore with KFC for lunch)! Hope she will enjoy herself.

Sky turns 1 today!

Yesterday, we held a party for him but i'm pretty sure he's clueless of what's going on. Several Aunties & Uncles came with their well wishes.

The pinata had a slight glitch. Must tell Aunty Alice that she had secure it too tightly :p We had to tear open for the candies to come out. But I'm sure the children had enjoyed themselves very much.

I have been wanting to get a pinata for Sky's 1yr b'day party and was scouting around. I spotted a "thomas train" design in toy'r us which cost $40. Of course, my "economical" hubby screamed when he knew i wanted to spend $40 over a few pcs of cardboard.

But so sweet of Aunty Alice, she made a Star Pinata for Sky. Hope the children will enjoy it tmr when the candies came "raining" down.

Letting my DH taking care of the kids can be v. challenging (for me!). Just las Sat, i was needed to be at work for a few hrs.

I casually SMS DH while at work: "How's the kids?"
Reply: "Shannon is drinking detergent"

Wat! I wasted no time in calling Jason to check out what happen. "U noe, Siti is busy with hsework so i dun hv enough hands to take care your 2 baobeis. Skyler is busying walking but to the wrong places.. (he always like to venture into toilet which i dun understand why. This particular area of the house whether it's in Ah Ma or our place always seems to fascinate him alot!!!!) Shannon is standing on the ikea stool meddling with the cap of the small baby bottle cleaner and inside there's a little bit of liquid. I ask her if she did drink it and she nodded her head" Rattling the reply

Till now, we are also not sure if Shannon did drink that liquid

Can't you do something more constructive than letting them hang around in the kitchen. Get Shannon to do some coloring, watch vcds, read story books or play her toys..There's so many things to do!

So my DH, if you are reading this, dun forget you had a track record. I hvn't forget you ever let Shannon ate dog food (although it's just one tiny dog biscuit) before!!

Did I say that Sky can walk by himself already? Thou still appear to be a drunken young man & not forgetting that he need his "wings" for his balancing act :p

Sky had his first taste of Goat's milk today & he seem to enjoy it! We went to the Goat farm today with Fredrick & family. Shannon was abit apprehensive when feeding the goats. Wanted to go farmart but too bad the weather is not doing us any favour. In the end, Fredrick & family decided to come to our place instead.

We end the day by ordering pizza in for dinner. Not very good IMO..don't think we will order from them again..

The kids were shag out & all slept by 9pm.

After Shannon's JG lesson, we had a nice short walk at Kent Ridge Park yesterday. We were lucky to leave the park before the thundering rain came.

Sky has begun to walk on his own for maximum 5 - 8 steps!

Sky had his haircut at fantastic sam today. After the haircut, Aunty Siti commented tat he dun look like a bb anymore. Ya.. indeed! He look like a big boy now especially with a clean cut look! He will be 1 in a month's time! Time really files!

Coming to 11mths, Sky is now erupting the upper lateral incisor. In total, he has 4 upper teeth & 2 lower teeth

We hv been trying to give Shannon a flu jab since last year but it was always out of stock for the last 2 flu season. Finally, we brought Shannon for a flu jab today. What a brave girl..she did not cry at all! We hope that with the flu jab, the episodes of flu virus passing around especially to Sky will end.

He simply love playing ball too. Ah ma said that of all the toys, he always choose ball. When we ask where is the ball, he will go to the toy cabinet to look for it. Hmmm, with all the mummy's milk, i always hope that he will say ma ma first..

For a period of time, Shannon always need someone to hold her hand whenever she poo poo. Somehow, she need this kind of "power" from either me, aunty siti or ah ma in order to finish her business. However, since ah gong intervene, we are free of the smell while she do her business.

And, she will put the chair back after she finish her business. Hope this habit of hers won't last long.

Poor Sky.. he's still down with running nose & phlegm. May god bless him with a healthy body soon! worry worry!

While I'm updating my blog, Shannon is quietly buttoning dh's shirt. I thot she was only fidgeting with it and only when dh prompted then i realised that Shan is really buttoning. It got me so excited!

I'm so proud of her when she finished buttoning dh's shirt. It involves determination & attention span..opps! I guess i'm exaggerating! Can't imagine this small little things can make me so happy!

Exactly a mth apart, Fredrick is indeed Shannon's "qing mei zhu ma". They have went to Genting, KL, zoo trips, parks, swimming, shopping & countless dining sessions together. Fred's mummy was sharing with me that Fred like Shan the best..Last Sun, when warned that Shan is going to visit him, he quickly went to shower (something he dread v. much!) Fredrick's mummy is now preggie with no. 2 but boy again. Too bad..no mate for Sky.
