That's it. After all the anticipation, it's a short and fuss free registration. I brought all required documents as stated in MOE website but all the administrator saw was Shan's BC. What I should look forward is the Orientation Day in November.

No kidding! But Shannon needed 3 visits to solve her toothache!! That's how she look like when she got emotional and do not cooperate with the dentist.
1st Visit----- We brought her to a private dental clinic at Tiong Bahru. There's some raving reviews from some mothers forum. Well, the dentist is friendly and even got her assistant to blow balloons for her with the hand gloves. Shan got a bad tooth decay and needed to do root canal treatment which will cost me $200+ and few visits. The dentist gently told her that she need to do a jab (local anesthetic) on her. As soon as she heard that, she cried uncontrollably no matter how we pacified her. Spent $30 and few good hours and nothing was done!!! As per the dentist advise, shannon would hv to go National Dental Care so that they could sedate her.

Have been wanting to go School Dental Care @ Health Promotion Board for the kids' dental visit which cost only $9 but am always put off by one month of waiting time. So, this dragged on and every time, i failed to bring them to visit the dentist. (Think I'm partly responsible for Shan's toothache :p) With this, i quickly called up School Dental Care again and tell them how serious is Shan's tooth condition. Surprisingly, they are able to slot Shan a week later.
2nd Visit----- Got to know from the dentist that Shan got 5 cavities!! There's also pus on the gum besides the tooth that need root canal treatment. Still very apprehensive, the dentist is good enough to make her open her mouth and do some cleaning. When the dentist did a swop of the equipment, Shan got emotional again and cried. The dentist then suggested for another visit for her to get comfortable and gave her some winx club stickers. Paid $9. When making appointment for the next visit, again the counter staff gave me a date which is a month later.
3rd Visit------ Learnt the "techniques" to fix quick appointment and gotten an appointment a week later. Glad that she was allocated the same dentist and she was so comfortable with him that she kept asking him various questions. Got abit emo in between and finally, all ended well with the cavity being cleaned and filled up! Whew! Paid $21.
The School Dental Care is indeed GOOD and CHEAP. The dentist is also ultra child friendly. I'm glad that i did not and need not spend a bomb on paediatric dentist. Made another appointment again to clean her remaining 4 cavities and this time, include Sky to the dentist visit.

As of last week, Shan will have spelling test every Monday. As a diligent (kiasu) mother, I better test her every Sunday before she's being tested the following day.
Instead of giving it to me for marking, she proceeded to mark it herself, gave herself 4 stars and wrote "I am clever ok"! (had to ask me for the spelling of "clever") Very Ego, right?!?

Shan has been rubbing her eyes these days and i brought her to see a GP. Apparently, there's slight inflamation in her eyes. However, i don't see much improvement after putting on the eye cream and taking anti-itch medicine for a few days. Dh came back yesterday and mentioned that an aunty told him the most effective way is to apply chinese tea leaves on her eyes.
Doesn't it looks like ants or worms on her! Today, she told me that she don't feel itchiness anymore. Guess it worked!

Ah Yi: (busy downloading show from web)...I'm downloading the show..
Shannon: What is "downloading"?
Ah Yi: (thinking how best to describe) Err...it's streaming (HELLO, sis, this word is more "chim" than "downloading" loh!
Shannon: What is "streaming"
Shannon: (before Ah Yi could think of better way to response) I know, it's "downloading"!
Can't help but burst into laughter & Shan laughed along with us....in the end, I don't think Shan understand what "downloading" means..

1. Winx Club

If she can get her way, she will check out Youtube for winx club clips everyday. Never get tired of naming the various characters of Winx Club. Will be bringing her to see the movie: "Winx Club: The secret of the lost kingdom".
2. Wonder Girl
Korean Pop Group. Made the mistake of letting her see the clip when i was surfing blogs. She's addicted to it since.. Simply love the song "Tell me". She (and myself) is also amazed at how this "wonder kid" could dance so well.
3. Barbies & Princess
Well, need not say much..i'm sure it's much well love by the young gals.

Gee...5yr old gal acutally know how to google for information that she wants. There's this google / yahoo tab search in the header and she must have observed how i used it.

Shan's sch had their annual concert in SCGS on 7 Sept. This yr, the theme is "Hansel & Gretel". Shan participated in 2 items since she's in both Ballet & Tap.
They had full dress rehearsal the day before between 2 - 6pm..Was contemplating to skip this rehearsal as we only touch down SG at about 3.30pm. Well, the teachers asked if we could bring her down as it's impt she needs to know the placing on stage..
It's indeed mad rush once we touched down. Both of us check out first and reach SCGS about 4.10pm...Teachers are still seen doing the kiddos make up and hair do and no rehearsal done yet.. Finally at abt 5pm..all were done up and got their group photos taken and one round of reahearsal.
Not to mention that we have earlier bought tixs to see Thomas & Friends at the Expo in the evening at 7pm (actually, we planned to come back on 5 Sept but no air tixs...hence the mad rush)...
