Shan had her piano performance at her music school's Annual Concert last Sat. This year, it was held at MGS Auditorium.
Shan's performance piece - Old Macdonald & Merrily We are off to school.
Captured this during the rehearsal so that I could enjoy the concert subsequently.

Before going to Ah Gong's place, the kids requested to go swimming.

Shan is now able to paddle in the water (with float) without clinging on to me. She has also finally dare to submerg in the water for a few secs.
Sky, as usual, the daring one..enjoys swiming and always very reluctant to leave the pool. He refuses to use any form of float!
Hmm..mus make use of GSS to buy some swim cap for the kids to protect their hair and a proper swim suit for Shan.

Am very proud of this painting of Owl done by Shan. Since she's having holiday from her dance class, we took her back to the adhoc art class while papa attends to an appt sat morning. The teacher said that she listens well and her drawing skill is good.

Of all people to dream about, Shan told me on 2 occasions that she dreamt of Mas Selamat! Whenever she spotted Mas Selamat poster, she will either point out to us and just rattle the name. Guess, the many many posters around created this undesirable effect on her. LOL

The kids cc is very proactive in enaging the parents. First, they had an orientation begining of the year to bring you through the theme and activities going through for the next six mths. Three months down the road, they organised another informal parent teacher session.
This time, I'm quite sad as Sky's English teacher, Lydia, (who is also Shan's literacy teacher) informed she would be on six months no pay leave to pursue her dip course. The good news is she would be back in half a yr time. Thus far, she's the best pre-school teacher I had ever seen. She's very passionate about teaching pre-schoolers and know her stuff well. In fact, she was Eton House trained and also a former teacher from Eton House. I understand that she's also using the same approach to teach the playgroup kids. Nonetheless, she's following God's calling to enrich her passion in pre school teaching and we fully bless her in her path.
Back to the kids development
Shan
- Good helper in school
- Good academics both in English & Mandarin
- Loves to talk
- May be strong pride and can't accept if there's peers do not listen to her (have been working on that)
Sky
- Independent
- Only communicates in English. Chinese teacher "complaining" that he don't speak Chinese at all! Oh dear!!!
- Can colour well (at least within the lines)

Brought Shan along when I go for my pedi session two wks ago. She manage to coax for a pedi herself and chose a glittering purple polish with nail art. Compared to mine, it much more glam lor.
Shan's pedi

After a swim y'day, some of the polish dropped off and she told me she needs to go back for more. O dear! What have i gotten myself into!

Similar like last year, Shan's dance school traditionally held their "birthday" celebration with a showcase of their dance performances.
Make up Time
Ready for performance
The kids were sitting in their groups, getting ready to be called up to the stage.
Waiting for the music cue
Part of the performance!

With a $100 marriot dinning voucher, we went there for a buffet lunch last saturday to celebrate dh's birthday. At the end of the lunch, I took out the camera to take few shots of the kids. Then, Shan started making funny faces for me to take the shots and even lead the brother to do the same thing. It's hilarious to watch them so cheeky.

Shan suddenly told me in the evening that she saw a man & woman kissing the other time she was attending holiday programme at tien hsia. She was describing to me that this couple seems to be biting each other and asking me why they are eating one another! Oh my!! At the moment, I was stunned & not sure how to react. The way she describe was way too funny & I can't help but laughing! Muna subsequently told me Shan tried to do that to Sky before I reach home but Sky keep pushing the crazy jie jie away! After the laugh, I quickly distracted her to her music practice.

Sometimes, dh & myself will spell out certain words if we do not want to let the kids hear. Did not know that Shan has already grow up & she already know some spelling.
Me talking to dh: (not wanting to disappoint the kids if we did not go) Wan to go Z.O.O (Sp) later?
Shan sitting beside: Z.O.O ZOO?!! Yeh, we are going Zoo!
Oops! Eventually, we did not go Zoo also.

My 2 baobeis drove me nuts this evening!! Got into my nerves when the two was fighting over the bicycle when I reach home. Wonder how can they deceive their teachers in school. Earlier in the noon, the branch director (principal) of the school was just updating me on the kids progress in school. Was sharing what a loving jie jie Shan is. Took great care of Sky like reminding him to tell teacher if he want to pass urine and sent him to his class before going to her K1 class. How can they be so lovey dovey in school and be so nasty towards each other at home!!!!
Contrary to what the teacher says that he can feed himself lunch in the school, he was running around during dinner time back. The last straw came when he spits out the food and I gave him a hard stroke of cane. Arrg!!
Dinner time was over when Shan brought down a pretty ornament (gift from Aunty Sandy) from the shelve. Again, Sky wanted to have it and they fought over it again. Got a bad feeling that this ornament wouldn't last long. Manage to separate the kids & brought Sky to shower. He was wailing away refusing to shower and my heat level went another notch higher. Just when when I was changing Sky, Shan fell & needless to say, she broke IT! Guess Angels must be watching over her that she had only a miner cut. She cried very hard & kept apologising. Surprisingly, I was rather calm and did not leash out at her though i'm already very HOT! She must be feeling very sorry about it as she kept repeating "Sorry mummy". This lesson is good enough for her. As a form of punishment, I sent the kids to bed. But hey! since the kids were asleep early today, I could catch k-dramas. :P
Sign...do I really want a third child????

Both baobeis had been with the school for about a week already. Thank god for the smooth transition with no cryings nor any separation anxiety at all. Sky was abit apprensive of the new environment when I'm around on the first day. But he settled in fast as teacher allowed him to follow jie jie the first few days. The school has also been giving us daily feedback on their "performance".
